Liturgy Course in 2012

19-Jul-2011 Graduate Certificate in
Theological Studies (Liturgy)
Commencing in 2012

The GCTS (Liturgy) has been developed in response to the Catholic Church’s ongoing need for trained liturgists
within dioceses, parishes and school communities. This certificate provides a specialised, post-graduate qualification
specifically designed to:

• introduce the fundamentals of liturgical studies
• emphasise an up-to-date understanding of the Church’s
official teaching on liturgy
• train liturgists in the use of the third edition of the
Roman Missal
• provide training for catechesis and celebration of sacraments
• promote appropriate and effective use of music in the
liturgy
• explore the Christian conception and celebration of time.

It will be offered in a variety of flexible learning modes:
intensive face-to-face units on weekends, vacation schools, and interactive online units using a combination of real-time online web-seminars and independent online student learning. For its interactive online units, ACU utilises specialist software that enables students to watch, listen and speak to the presenter in real-time, respond and interact via instant-chat facilities, work in small groups, and offer presentations from wherever there is access to a broadband internet connection.
