Ana DaCosta

  Composer Biography


Ana Da Costa is native to Mississauga, Ontario, and has been involved in various forms of ministry for a number of years. She is involved with Youth Ministry for Dufferin Peel Separate Catholic School Board, facilitating retreats for High School students, and working in co-operation with school chaplains for special liturgies and other events. As well as co-writing the Song of the Cross, Ana continues to write music for worship and reflection. She is planning to release a CD of her own work in co-operation with Susan HooKong-Taylor in 2007. In November of 2006, Ana travelled with Susan to New York City to be a featured part of the Catholic Underground, an evening of worship and song, established by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal . Ana has been working as a music minister for the Lift Jesus Higher Rally in Toronto for several years, and has been a musical director of this event along with Susan for the past four years. They are looking forward to the next Lift Jesus Higher Rally in April of 2007. Ana made her profession as a Third Order Franciscan in December 2002.
