Robert Galea
Composer Biography
Robert Galea is a newly ordained Catholic priest ministering in the diocese of Sandhurst. He is a singer and songwriter with a comparable international fan base. Apart from a series of recordings and CD releases, Robert has also written a number of songs for various campaigns and international conferences. After being selected to sing in the international version of the official World Youth Day song "Receive the Power" along with pop idol Guy Sebastian and acclaimed soprano Amelia Farrugia amongst others, Galea entered the realm of the cast of musicians having performed in some key events before an estimated 500,000 pilgrims in Sydney. Robert has released a new collection titled Reach Out (2011) following the success of previous albums "What a Day" (2008), and "Closer" (2006). Robert's passion is to draw others to the heart of God. He believes that music is an important instrument in helping God's people understand the need for intimacy with their God. In all this, whilst greatly appreciating his gift of music, Robert recognises that before everything he is a follower of Christ, a priest and only then, a musician. Robert was a presenter at the As One Voice National Music Conference in September 2011. Willow Publishing will be publishing a songbook featuring songs from Rob's previous collections plus some inspirational material. His music is available via Willow Connection at www.willowconnection.com.au
