Paul McGee

  Composer Biography

Paul McGee, Neil McCann and John Littrich have been writing and recording music through their label Dogmatic Music since 2004. Paul had been writing songs and plays for many years before that and using them to great effect in the classroom. Neil McCann, also an experienced teacher as well as a talented multi-instrumentalist, recognized the value of the music Paul was making. With Neil and John's years of experience as live performers, the trio gelled and began recording and writing as a team. They also utilized the talents of their children including Neil's daughter, Sarah, who has contributed with songwriting and recording. To date, Dogmatic Music have released three great Religious Education resources for schools: It's the Bible; Jesus This Is Your Life ; and, Together We Will Witness, the first two comprising musical plays with accompanying CDs and the last (from which the track Together We Will Witness is taken) an album of songs for liturgies and the mass. The plays and their music have been used by schools all over Australia. They have also produced other teaching resources such as the play and album, Antarctica, for upper Primary School students and wrote the title track and another track for the 2008 Pacific Calling Project album, Turn Down the Heat, promoting awareness of global warming and its impact on the island nations of the Pacific. They have also written and recorded the popular song, Hey Billy Backpack for Illawarra Children's Services' Transition to School Program and are currently working on another project for pre-school children.
