Kathryn Radloff
Composer Biography
Kathryn has been songwriting for over twenty years. She is a keyboardist and guitarist and has been a vocalist in professional bands and ensembles. She has always been involved in music ministry in her parish. Her passion is to encourage people within the church to use their gifts in the creative arts, for the Church. She also believes that amazing songs are written through collaboration with other songwriters and musicians! She was a finalist in the Catholic Youth Services "YELL" Song Writing Competition, with her song "You Are There". Her song, "Light of the World", won an Australian World Youth Day competition in 2002. Kathryn was born and raised in South Africa. As a teenager, she immigrated with her family to New Zealand and completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Psychology degree from Otago University. She moved to Australia in 1998, to complete a two-year Creative Arts Diploma from Christian City Creative Arts College. She then worked in the area of Mission Engagement and Campus Ministry at Australian Catholic University. She has also worked for the Edmund Rice Centre in social justice and business ethics. In 2006, Kathryn collaborated with friend Nuala O'Hanlon to write educational songs. Their firm belief in the power of music to unlock learning potential in mainstream classrooms became the catalyst for the formation of their company, Keystone Creations. They believe children love to sing and they learn what they sing. Together, they now write and publish innovative Primary School Teaching Resources which target Curriculum and Values-through Original Songs. One of their songs has been selected for the 2010 ABC "SING" Songbook Series. Kathryn lives on Sydney's Northern Beaches. She is married to Jason and has three young children and two teenage step-children.
